Privacy

The short version

GoSpur plans your free hours and, if you want, shows you the people going to the same places. We collect the minimum needed to do that, we don't sell your data, and every social surface has an off switch. This is a beta: identity is an anonymous browser ID — there are no accounts yet.

What we store

On your device (localStorage): your profile — name, avatar, interests, dietary needs, preferences, tier — and an anonymous ID we generate. Your avatar photo is downscaled in your browser; the original never leaves your device.

On our server, keyed to that anonymous ID: plans you generate, stops you accept (attendance), live-presence check-ins, messages you send through GoSpur, friends and connections, reports you file, and per-tier usage counts. We do not store payment details (there are none in the beta) and we never see your contacts.

How you appear to other people

Accepting a stop always counts you in that place's "going today" number. What others can see of you is a three-level choice:

• Visible: your first name, avatar, bio, and time window are shown; people can wave at you.
• Low-key (the default): only your first initial (like "M***") and a blurred avatar appear. No name, no bio, and nobody can message you.
• Invisible: turn off "Show that I'm around" in your profile and you are only ever an anonymous number in the count.

Going live ("I'm here") is always identity-forward — turning it on is your consent to be seen at that place, and it turns off automatically when you leave or after 3 hours. You can also hide yourself from specific people ("Hide me") — they'll never see you anywhere in the app.

Location

Your location is used only when you ask: to start a plan from where you are, or to auto-end your live presence when you walk away. It is used for the calculation and not stored as a location history. Typed starting points are matched on your device against our own place list — no third-party geocoding.

AI narration

On paid tiers, the day's description is written by an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). We send it your plan's stops and the optional preferences you chose to share — never your messages, connections, or identity. Free-tier plans use templates and no AI at all.

What we don't do

• No selling or renting your data. Ever.
• No ad trackers.
• No reading your contacts.
• No sharing your bio or avatar with anyone unless you chose to be visible.

Your controls

Everything above is adjustable on your Profile page. Clearing your browser storage removes your local profile; to have your server-side records deleted, email us with your anonymous ID (shown on your Profile page) at privacy@gospur.app. GoSpur is for adults — you must be 18 or older to use the social features.
